Christina Shewell

Christina is a coach, writer, and teacher with a wealth of one-to-one coaching experience, both nationally and internationally. She brings a uniquely rich and insightful presence to her clients, unlocking confidence and clarity to achieve influential, authentic communication. Her approach is warm, eclectic and exploratory. As appropriate, she combines science-based insights from neuroscience and psychology with a wealth of experiential practical work, which may include mindfulness, poetry, and techniques for well-being.
Her clients have included leading figures in business, higher education and government, including at Cabinet level. As well as the heads of companies and major institutions, Christina has coached many singers and actors, including members of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Originally a therapist working with those seeking to improval communication skills, Christina worked in both the NHS, and in a Harley Street clinic with a focus on the developing vocal presence of public speakers and performers.
She gained a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Reading University, became a senior lecturer in communication and counselling skills at University College London, and for her special expertise, was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Her book, Voice Work: Art and Science in Changing Voices, was published in 2009 and remains a widely acclaimed core text for voice practitioners. A second edition, co-authored with Rockford Sansom, was published in January 2025.
